MID-LEVEL JAVA DEVELOPER
Title: MID-LEVEL JAVA DEVELOPER Description: ClearPoint Metrics delivers advanced software solutions that enable organizations to continually measure, actively monitor, and effectively communicate the business impact and value of IT and security investments. Due to an increase in market demand and the growth of our existing customer base, we are looking for Java Software Engineers to join our development team. Currently we have an opening for a Mid-Level Java Developer to join our data adaptor team. The mid-level Java Developer will work as part of our Data Adaptor Development team, and will be responsible for design, implementation, and unit-testing for the data adaptors. The mid-level Java Developer will be responsible for: Interacting with the customer engineering group, customers, and vendors to gather the data adaptor needs/requirements; Coordinating with the Customer engineering group for adaptor integration, validation, and testing; Providing on-going support, documentation and enhancement for all data adaptors.
Data Adapters function as our conduit to the data that drives our IT security performance metrics and scorecard solutions for our customers. Someone who develops data adapters should have an interest in reverse engineering , since the team is not often handed a solution on a silver platter. In order to meet the ever-changing demands of our customers, we offer a customized approach to our product and we need engineers that are not afraid of searching through a database, or implementing an API or a protocol in Java. Every data adapter is potentially different; someone who develops data adapters should be interested in learning new things and *adapting*, and should enjoy being exposed to a wide array of products, technologies and APIs.
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2+ years experience in the design and development for Java stand-alone or JAVA web applications * Previous experience developing commercial software product in team environment * Working knowledge of XML, SQL, JavaScript, Eclipse, OSGI, Web Service, AJAX, SaaS application * Familiarity with open source tools such as Eclipse, J-Unit, Maven, Log4j, Subversion, Bugzilla and others * Strong verbal and written communication skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills * Prior experience with a start-up environment - we are looking for people that have a fire inside, a desire to succeed and are willing to go the distance * we need those with a can-do attitude and a solutions oriented approach on development
